Wait — is Disney building a Disneyland or a Disney World in Abu Dhabi? The answer might surprise you.

Ever since The Walt Disney Company announced plans for a brand-new theme park resort in Abu Dhabi, fans have been asking one big question: what will it actually be called?
Now, new details are giving us our first real clues—and the answer isn’t as straightforward as you might think.
Although Disney has not officially announced a name for the upcoming Abu Dhabi theme park resort, according to reporting from Blooloop, we may have a few clues, though!

There are two interesting hints in Disney’s original press materials CEO Bob Iger referenced the project as “Disneyland Abu Dhabi” while the official project listing on Yas Island has referred to it more broadly as “Disney Abu Dhabi.”
That means, as of now, there is no confirmed final name — and Disney appears to be keeping its options open.
While the name remains a mystery, the project itself is very real, and very significant.
Disney is partnering with Abu Dhabi-based developer Miral to create what will become Disney’s seventh global theme park resort and its first-ever location in the Middle East.
The new destination will be built on Yas Island, a rapidly growing entertainment hub already home to major attractions like theme parks and immersive experiences.

Disney has also emphasized that the resort will be authentically Disney, distinctly Emirati, and designed with cutting-edge technology and immersive storytelling
So the fact that Disney hasn’t locked in a name yet could mean the project is still evolving in scope, or that they’re intentionally leaving room for branding flexibility.
As more details continue to emerge, this Abu Dhabi project is shaping up to be one of the most exciting Disney expansions in years—even if we don’t know what to call it just yet.
Stay tuned for more updates, announcements, and deep dives as Disney’s newest global destination comes to life.
