This summer, you can celebrate Cars in the most Pixar way possible.
If you grew up shouting “Ka-chow!” or still get a little emotional driving past Route 66 vibes in the parks, this one’s for you! Disney is gearing up to celebrate a major Pixar milestone, and they’re doing it with an experience that feels straight out of Radiator Springs.
But this isn’t just a movie night. It’s a full-on fan event, and it might be one of the coolest throwback celebrations we’ve seen yet.
D23 is teaming up with Street Food Cinema to host a 20th anniversary screening of Cars on August 1, 2026, at the Autry Museum of the American West. And yes, it’s set to be exactly as fun as it sounds!
This outdoor event will feature a full screening of Cars under the stars, food trucks and themed eats, photo opportunities, and a special event gift for select ticket holders. Basically, it’s giving cozy summer night meets Disney fan dream!
If you’re a D23 member, there are a few extra perks worth noting. Guests who purchase tickets through D23 will receive early entry, access to a reserved viewing area, and an exclusive themed gift tied to the event.
The night kicks off with early entry around 5:30 PM, followed by a pre-show before the movie begins at 8:15 PM, so you’ll have plenty of time to soak in the atmosphere before Lightning McQueen hits the screen.
This screening is actually part of a larger summer series celebrating Disney film anniversaries, including The Princess Diaries, Muppet Treasure Island, and Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest.
But let’s be real — Cars turning 20? That hits differently! For a whole generation of fans, this movie wasn’t just a Pixar film — it was the Pixar film. And getting to celebrate it in a community setting like this feels like the perfect way to mark the milestone.
