A major adult area is CLOSED on the Disney Destiny cruise ship.

Disney Destiny

If you’ve been dreaming of relaxing in the adult-only infinity pool on Disney’s newest ship, you might want to brace yourself — because there’s a major onboard change happening right now aboard the Disney Destiny.

The Quiet Cove Pool, which is the ship’s adults-only infinity-style pool located on Deck 13 Aft, is currently closed until further notice due to a maintenance issue.

According to onboard reports and guest observations, the closure is tied to a tile and/or surface issue affecting the pool area. In fact, parts of the pool structure have reportedly been visibly affected, with sections appearing to be under repair and blocked off for safety.

At this time, Disney Cruise Line has not provided a formal reopening timeline, and there is no update listed in the onboard Navigator app regarding when the space will return.

Guests currently sailing on the Disney Destiny have reported that the area is clearly marked as out of order, with access blocked off while work is ongoing.

The closure also affects what was previously one of the ship’s most popular adult spaces — an infinity-style pool overlooking the ocean designed exclusively for guests 18 and older looking for a quiet escape away from the main family decks.

Normally, this area includes not just the pool itself, but also nearby lounge space, the Cove Café, and the Cove Bar — making it a full relaxation zone for adult guests.

While venues surrounding the pool may remain partially accessible, the signature pool experience is currently unavailable.

To help offset the closure, Disney has shifted adult guests to a different location on board.

The Chip ‘n Dale’s Pool, typically a family-friendly wading pool located on Deck 14 Forward, has been temporarily converted into an 18+ adults-only space during the Quiet Cove closure.

This pool is much shallower than Quiet Cove and features a more relaxed, casual setup. While it isn’t a traditional swimming pool in the same way guests might expect, it has become the designated adult relaxation area in the meantime.

Guests onboard have also noted that this space includes shaded seating, loungers, and nearby beverage service—helping it function as a temporary alternative hangout spot while repairs continue.

For many Disney Cruise Line fans, the adults-only spaces (especially Quiet Cove) are a major part of the onboard experience.

Quiet Cove is typically one of the most sought-after areas on Wish-class ships like the Disney Destiny, offering a peaceful retreat away from the busy main pool deck, live entertainment, and family activities.

With its infinity-edge design and ocean views, it’s often considered one of the most relaxing spots on the entire ship. That’s why this closure has been such a noticeable change for guests onboard — especially those sailing specifically for the adult-exclusive amenities.

If you’re sailing soon, it’s worth planning and being aware that the usual adult infinity pool experience may not be available during your voyage.
