If you’ve ever looked up at the Disneyland skyline and wondered what it was like to glide above the park in a floating gondola, this new release is going to hit you right in the nostalgia.

While the Skyway hasn’t operated since the 1990s, Disney is giving fans a brand-new way to remember it — in the form of a collectible straw clip, and it’s arriving sooner than you think.
As part of the ongoing Disneyland 70th Celebration, Disney is releasing a Skyway Straw Clip inspired by the classic aerial gondola attraction that once carried guests between Fantasyland and Tomorrowland. The original Skyway debuted in 1956 and became one of Disneyland’s most iconic early attractions, offering sweeping views of the park before eventually closing in 1994 due to maintenance and structural concerns.

Now, that piece of Disney history is being reimagined as a small but detailed collectible that fans can attach to their drink straws — a fun, functional souvenir that still manages to carry a surprising amount of nostalgia.
The new release features a miniature red Skyway gondola designed after the later rectangular-style buckets that were introduced in the mid-1960s. It includes metallic detailing, a tiny “70” anniversary marking on the side, and a stylized finish that mirrors the classic attraction vehicles guests remember floating above Disneyland Park.
While it may be small in size, it’s packed with references that longtime Disney fans will immediately recognize — especially those who remember seeing the Skyway pass through the Matterhorn Bobsleds during its decades of operation.

The Skyway Straw Clip is set to debut on April 22, 2026, as part of the ongoing Disneyland Resort 70th anniversary celebrations.
At this time, Disney has not yet confirmed exact distribution locations or pricing details, but merchandise tied to anniversary celebrations is typically released across multiple in-park retail locations, often including high-traffic shops throughout Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure.
As always with limited-edition Disneyland merchandise, availability is expected to be highly sought after — especially given the strong emotional connection fans still have to the Skyway.
Even though the Skyway has been gone for decades, it has never truly left Disneyland’s identity. The attraction remains one of those rare pieces of park history that fans continue to revisit through photos, concept art, and storytelling — especially since remnants of its legacy can still be found in and around the Matterhorn area today.
That’s why even something as small as a straw clip is making such a big impact. It’s not just another piece of merchandise — it’s a physical reminder of an attraction that once defined the feeling of “flying over Disneyland.”
And for many fans, that’s more than enough reason to add it to their collection.
Keep checking back for more Disneyland 70th anniversary updates, limited-time merchandise drops, and theme park nostalgia pieces as Disney continues celebrating the park that started it all.
