Trying to get runDisney merch? This NEW virtual queue could make or break your race weekend!

If you’re heading to runDisney’s Springtime Surprise Weekend, listen up — because scoring that must-have race merch just got a little more competitive, and a lot more digital.

Disney has officially confirmed that a virtual queue system will once again be REQUIRED for the merchandise shop on the first day of the runDisney Health & Fitness Expo, and if you don’t know how it works, you could miss out on some of the most popular items of the weekend.

Here’s everything you need to know before race day.

During the 2026 runDisney Springtime Surprise Weekend, the virtual queue will control access to the official merchandise shop inside the Expo, which takes place at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. On day one only, this virtual system is the only way in — meaning there’s no standby line for shopping that first day.

And yes…it fills FAST!

To join, guests will need to use the My Disney Experience app, where the virtual queue opens at designated times — typically around 8:30 AM and again later in the day around 11 AM if spots remain. Once you secure a spot, you’ll be assigned a boarding group and given an estimated return window.

The best part? You don’t even have to be inside the park.

Guests can join the queue from their hotel room (or anywhere within roughly 45 miles of Walt Disney World), allowing you to plan your morning without physically waiting in line.

When your group is called, you’ll receive a notification and have about one hour to return to the Expo, where you’ll scan a QR code for entry.

Inside, you’ll find everything from exclusive event apparel to limited-edition collaborations — including popular runDisney-themed merchandise that often sells out quickly.

This system isn’t just about convenience — it’s about managing demand for highly limited items. Merchandise is available while supplies last, and historically, some of the most sought-after pieces disappear early on day one.

There are a few exceptions worth noting. Club runDisney Gold and Platinum members get early access and may not need to join the virtual queue during their designated shopping window. And if you’d rather skip the stress altogether, the merchandise shop does open to regular standby access on later Expo days — though availability may be more limited by then.

Bottom line? If you’ve got your eye on something specific, this is one of those “be ready the second it opens” moments.

Because at runDisney…the race might be on the course, but the real competition starts at the merch line!
