Universal isn’t slowing down—and this latest update proves it.

Just months after opening a brand-new theme park, crews are already clearing a massive new piece of land in the heart of Orlando’s tourist district. Here’s what we know so far.
Universal Orlando Resort has begun clearing nearly 90 acres of land for a new, yet-to-be-announced project, signaling continued expansion across the destination.

According to recent reports, crews have been actively working on an 87.2-acre parcel located along Universal Boulevard, near Topgolf Orlando and Andretti Indoor Karting & Games.
The site sits just west of the recently opened Universal Epic Universe, placing it in a prime location within the growing Universal Orlando footprint.
Aerial footage captured by local news outlets shows heavy equipment clearing vegetation and leveling the land, marking the beginning stages of development.
At this time, Universal has not officially confirmed what the project will be.
However, the size and location of the parcel have sparked speculation about what could be coming next. Industry observers note that the area could support a wide range of developments, including:
- A new hotel
- Entertainment or dining complex
- Transportation hub
- Future expansion tied to Epic Universe
Permits for clearing the land were reportedly filed as early as late 2025, indicating that this project had been in planning stages for some time before visible work began.
The location itself is considered highly strategic, sitting near major tourist destinations and within close proximity to the Orange County Convention Center, making it suitable for both guest-facing experiences and infrastructure.

This development also comes amid broader growth for Universal Orlando.
With the opening of Epic Universe in 2025—Universal’s first new theme park in Florida in over two decades—the company has already signaled that additional expansions are part of its long-term plans.
While details remain limited, the start of land clearing is often one of the earliest visible signs that a major project is moving forward.
For now, Universal has not announced a timeline or provided specifics about what will be built on the site. But with nearly 90 acres now being prepared for development, it’s clear that whatever comes next…it’s going to be significant!
