A new set of job postings from Universal Orlando may be hinting at something bigger on the horizon.

While Epic Universe currently operates without a traditional nighttime fireworks show, recent hiring activity suggests that could soon change. Universal is now actively seeking fireworks technicians for the park—raising new questions about what’s coming next.
Universal Orlando Resort is now hiring for specialized fireworks roles at Universal Epic Universe—and it could signal a major addition to the park’s entertainment lineup.

According to newly published job listings, Universal is seeking multiple fireworks technicians, including both lead-level and technician-level roles, specifically assigned to Epic Universe.
The positions focus on the operation, handling, and maintenance of fireworks and pyrotechnic systems, along with supporting show quality and safety across entertainment offerings.
While job postings alone don’t confirm a new offering, the timing (and scope) of these roles is notable.
Epic Universe, which officially opened in 2025, currently does not feature a traditional nightly fireworks show. However, over the past year, Universal has reportedly constructed a dedicated fireworks launch site within the park, designed to support large-scale pyrotechnic displays if needed.

That combination—new infrastructure plus active hiring—has led to growing speculation that a nighttime spectacular could be in development.
Adding to that speculation, Universal previously filed a trademark for “Universal Celestial Goodnight,” described as an amusement park entertainment experience, further hinting at potential future offerings tied to nighttime entertainment.
At the same time, it’s important to note that these roles could support a variety of entertainment needs.
Fireworks and pyrotechnics are often used across multiple types of shows, including seasonal events, limited-time offerings, or smaller-scale effects integrated into existing experiences. Universal has not officially confirmed that a permanent nightly fireworks show is in development for Epic Universe at this time.

Still, the broader context makes this development worth watching.
Epic Universe was designed with large-scale entertainment in mind, including advanced lighting, water features, and show infrastructure. In fact, the park’s central hub, Celestial Park, was built to support fireworks and coordinated nighttime experiences as part of its long-term vision.
For now, Universal has not announced any new nighttime spectacular for the park.
But with hiring now underway for dedicated fireworks technicians, it’s clear that something involving pyrotechnics is being planned behind the scenes.
Whether that turns into a full-scale nightly show or something more limited… this is one update that could point to a much bigger reveal in the near future.
