Tokyo Disneyland’s Tomorrowland is getting a major transformation in 2027!

Tokyo Disney Resort has revealed new details about several attractions and facilities coming to Tomorrowland, including the official name of the all-new Space Mountain and the world’s first attraction themed to Disney’s Wreck-It Ralph.
Here’s everything announced for the future of Tomorrowland at Tokyo Disneyland.
“Wreck-It Ralph: Sweet Rescue” Opens Spring 2027

A brand-new attraction inspired by Disney’s Wreck-It Ralph will officially open at Tokyo Disneyland in spring 2027.
The attraction will be called:
Wreck-It Ralph: Sweet Rescue
This will be the world’s first Disney Parks attraction themed to Wreck-It Ralph.
Guests will enter the world of the arcade game “Sugar Rush” and join Ralph and Vanellope on a mission to save the game from the “Sugar Bugs” created by King Candy.
The attraction will also introduce new technology to Tokyo Disney Resort, creating an interactive experience where guests become part of the action rather than simply watching the story unfold.
New Shop “Pixel Prism”

A new merchandise location called Pixel Prism will open next to Wreck-It Ralph: Sweet Rescue.
The shop will offer a variety of merchandise, including items related to the new attraction.
Pixel Prism is scheduled to open in spring 2027.
New Popcorn Location “Popping Station”
Tomorrowland will also welcome a new popcorn location called Popping Station.
The location will be situated near Wreck-It Ralph: Sweet Rescue and will overlook the new Tomorrowland Plaza.
Popping Station is also scheduled to open in spring 2027.
New Space Mountain Officially Named “Space Mountain: Earthrise”

One of the biggest announcements is the official name of Tokyo Disneyland’s completely reimagined Space Mountain.
The attraction will officially be called:
Space Mountain: Earthrise
The new attraction will feature a completely redesigned ride system while continuing the tradition of Space Mountain as an indoor roller coaster.
Guests will experience a new story along with enhanced lighting, sound, and special effects designed to create an even more immersive journey through space.
First Onboard Audio System for a Tokyo Disney Resort Coaster
Space Mountain: Earthrise will begin with guests launching from Earth and accelerating into space.
The attraction will combine lighting and sound effects inspired by cosmic phenomena with something never before featured on a Tokyo Disney Resort roller coaster: an onboard audio system.
Audio will play directly from the ride vehicles, allowing the music and sound effects to follow guests throughout their journey.
This should make Space Mountain: Earthrise a very different experience from the original Tokyo Disneyland version of Space Mountain.
What Does “Earthrise” Mean?
The name “Earthrise” refers to the view of Earth appearing to rise above the horizon of the Moon when seen from space.
Space Mountain: Earthrise will highlight the beauty and preciousness of Earth as a unique planet within the vastness of space.
The concept will also give Tokyo Disneyland’s Space Mountain its own original theme compared to Space Mountain attractions at other Disney Parks around the world.
Tomorrowland Plaza

The area surrounding Space Mountain will also be transformed into a brand-new space called Tomorrowland Plaza.
The plaza will be themed around the harmony between humanity and nature.
Its design will incorporate elements inspired by fire, water, earth, wood, and celestial bodies such as the Sun and Moon.
At night, guests will also be able to experience special lighting and sound effects throughout the plaza.
Rather than simply serving as the entrance area for Space Mountain, Tomorrowland Plaza is expected to become a major new centerpiece of Tomorrowland.
New Food Location “Element Express”
A new food and beverage location called Element Express will also open in Tomorrowland Plaza.
The counter-service location will offer snacks and beverages to guests visiting the newly transformed area.
