UPDATE: Further talk from witnesses and hotel guests on Reddit have revealed the smoke’s initial start may have come from Bourbon Steakhouse’s kitchen and up through the ventilation system. Several commenters noted their reservations for the restaurant were cancelled.
Guests were not allowed back into the hotel as of reporting. Additionally, guests are reporting that the hotel is stating the incident started in an AC unit.

A fire response unfolded Thursday evening at the Walt Disney World Dolphin Hotel after smoke was reported coming from the resort. Guests staying nearby and visitors around Disney’s BoardWalk shared photos and videos of smoke rising from the hotel as emergency crews responded to the scene. Here’s what we know so far.
Emergency crews responded to the Walt Disney World Dolphin Hotel on Thursday evening following reports of a fire at the resort.
Photos and videos shared by guests from nearby locations, including Disney’s BoardWalk area, showed smoke rising from the Dolphin Hotel, while additional images appeared to show firefighters responding on the roof of the resort near what appeared to be mechanical equipment. Social media posts from guests at the hotel also reported seeing smoke and described emergency personnel responding to the scene.

At this time, Disney and emergency officials have not released an official statement regarding the cause of the incident, and it has not been confirmed which equipment or area of the hotel was involved.
What Guests Reported
Witnesses on social media said they observed smoke coming from the Dolphin Hotel, with some reporting that smoke drifted across portions of the Crescent Lake area.

Images shared online appear to show firefighters working on the rooftop while the smoke dissipated. Based on publicly shared reports, emergency responders were quickly on scene, though the extent of any damage has not been confirmed.
