There’s some welcome news for guests staying at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge this weekend.

After a multi-day air conditioning outage impacted one of Walt Disney World’s most popular Deluxe Resorts, Disney’s Wilderness Lodge is beginning to see signs of recovery. While the issue hasn’t been completely resolved, guests are reporting that air conditioning has been restored in some areas of the resort as Disney continues working to bring the system fully back online.
The outage first began earlier this week, affecting the main lodge building, including guest rooms, the lobby, dining locations, and other indoor spaces during a stretch of extreme Central Florida heat. Some guests reported room temperatures climbing into the low 80s while heat index values outside exceeded 100 degrees.
According to the latest guest reports, portions of the resort are finally cooling down.

Some guests shared that their rooms dropped into the low-to-mid 70s overnight after temporary cooling units were brought in, while others reported that portable air conditioning units have been installed throughout parts of the main building as Disney works toward a permanent solution.
Some Areas Were Never Impacted
The good news for Disney Vacation Club guests is that Boulder Ridge Villas reportedly did not experience the outage, as the separate building operates on a different system than the main lodge.
Dining operations also appear to be returning to normal. Earlier in the outage, advance dining reservations for Whispering Canyon Cafe and Story Book Dining at Artist Point with Snow White were unavailable. As of today, reservations have returned, though some guests noted that large fans and temporary cooling equipment are still being used inside portions of the resort.
Disney Continues Supporting Guests
Throughout the outage, Cast Members have been assisting guests by distributing portable fans when available, setting up cooling stations with complimentary beverages and treats, and offering room relocations or compensation on a case-by-case basis. Some guests were also given the option to transfer to other Walt Disney World Resort hotels if they preferred.

At this time, Disney has not publicly confirmed what caused the outage or announced that repairs have been fully completed. Guests with upcoming reservations at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge may still want to contact Disney directly for the latest information regarding their stay.
A Positive Step Forward
While the situation isn’t completely behind them, the latest update is encouraging for guests currently staying at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge and those arriving in the coming days. With air conditioning returning to parts of the resort and dining operations resuming, it appears the beloved Disney resort is gradually returning to normal.
