Spider-Man fans, Peter Parker’s closet is getting one more major upgrade.

Marvel

A brand-new MCU Spider-Man suit is officially swinging into Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, and this one is tied directly to Tom Holland’s next big-screen adventure. If you’ve been waiting for a reason to jump back into Insomniac Games’ version of Marvel’s New York, this free update may be it.

Insomniac Games has announced that the new “Fresh Start” suit from the upcoming film Spider-Man: Brand New Day will be added to Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 as a free in-game update.

The update will arrive on July 28 for both PlayStation 5 and PC players, just days before Spider-Man: Brand New Day is currently scheduled to hit theaters on July 31.

So yes, you’ll be able to swing through Marvel’s New York wearing the same suit featured in the new Tom Holland Spider-Man movie before the film even arrives in theaters.

What Does the New “Fresh Start” Suit Look Like?

The “Fresh Start” suit is based on the costume worn by Peter Parker in Spider-Man: Brand New Day. According to the details shared, the suit features a more comic-traditional red-and-blue color scheme, raised webbing, and prominent wrist web-shooters.

Disney Marvel

Overall, the look appears to blend the high-tech feel of Tom Holland’s earlier MCU Spider-Man suits with a brighter, more classic Spider-Man design. For fans who love when the movies lean closer to the comics, this one is definitely worth paying attention to.

How This Connects to Spider-Man: No Way Home

This update is also interesting because Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 already includes the “New Red and Blue Suit,” inspired by the handmade costume Peter Parker wears during the final swing sequence of Spider-Man: No Way Home.

That suit represented a major turning point for Holland’s Spider-Man, with Peter stepping into a more independent era after Doctor Strange’s spell caused the world to forget who he was.

Now, the Brand New Day costume arriving as a separate “Fresh Start” suit seems to suggest that Peter has created at least one more handcrafted Spider-Man suit following the events of No Way Home.

Why This Update Matters for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 first launched on PS5 in 2023 before later coming to PC. The game follows both Peter Parker and Miles Morales as playable Spider-Men as they face major threats, including Kraven the Hunter, Venom, and the growing danger of the symbiotes.

The game is also packed with alternate Spider-Man suits, including Peter’s Symbiote Suit, Anti-Venom Suit, Classic Suit, Scarlet Spider Suit, Superior Suit, Arachknight Suit, and many more designs inspired by Spider-Man comics, movies, and other adaptations.

Miles Morales also has his own lineup of alternate suits, including several inspired by the animated Spider-Verse films.

With the new suit joining the collection, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is getting a fresh movie tie-in that gives fans another reason to return to the game.

For Spider-Man fans, MCU fans, and Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 players, this is one of those fun little crossover moments where the movie world and gaming world line up perfectly.
