Disney+ is expanding its live content offerings in France, and this time, sports fans are getting the win.
French Disney+ subscribers now have access to La Chaîne L’Équipe, one of France’s leading sports channels, directly through their existing Disney+ subscription. The addition marks the first time Disney+ has included a live channel as part of a subscription for users in France.
Disney+ subscribers in France can now watch La Chaîne L’Équipe through the streaming platform, giving them access to live sports coverage, analysis programming, and major sporting events.
The channel’s sports coverage includes broadcasts such as:
- 24 Hours of Le Mans
- Biathlon World Cup
- Biathlon World Championships
- European Table Tennis Union circuit
- Additional live sporting events and programming
The move gives Disney+ users in France another reason to stay inside the Disney streaming ecosystem, especially as live sports continue to become a bigger part of streaming strategy.
Live Analysis Shows Included
In addition to live sports broadcasts, Disney+ subscribers can access several of La Chaîne L’Équipe’s live analysis programs, including L’Équipe du Soir, L’Équipe de Greg, and L’Équipe de Choc.
Vincent Broussard, Managing Director of the TV division of the L’Équipe Group, said the collaboration with Disney+ marks a new stage for the channel and helps expand its reach while continuing its mission to share a passion for sports with a wider audience.
While this update is currently specific to France, it reflects Disney+’s growing interest in live sports and localized streaming content.
Disney has already leaned heavily into sports through ESPN in the United States, but this move gives French subscribers access to a live sports channel directly inside Disney+ without needing a separate add-on.
