Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge just got a little sweeter.
Guests visiting The Mara at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge can now try two brand-new desserts inspired by the animals, landscapes, and storytelling found throughout the resort.
The new treats join the growing lineup of unique snacks available at one of Walt Disney World’s most immersive resort hotels.
Meet the New Giraffe Cake Bar
The first addition is the Giraffe Cake Bar, a colorful dessert inspired by one of the most iconic animals guests can spot on the resort’s savannas.
The treat features layers of malva pudding, marshmallow fluff, and caramel, all coated in a bright yellow chocolate shell designed to resemble a giraffe’s distinctive pattern. Malva pudding, a traditional South African dessert known for its rich texture and caramelized flavor, gives the snack a unique twist compared to many other Disney desserts.
With its eye-catching design and sweet flavor combination, this one looks like it was made specifically for Animal Kingdom Lodge’s Instagram-loving guests.
An Africa-Shaped Cookie Joins the Menu
Also new to The Mara is the Africa-shaped Sandwich Cookie, which may be one of the more creative resort desserts Disney has released this year.
The cookie features two vanilla shortbread cookies sandwiched together with raspberry jam and vanilla icing, while chocolate zebra stripes decorate the top as a nod to the animals found throughout the resort’s savannas. The cookie is shaped like the African continent, further connecting the dessert to the lodge’s African-inspired theme and storytelling.
The combination of buttery shortbread and sweet-tart raspberry filling gives this dessert a classic flavor profile while still feeling uniquely themed to the resort.
A Returning Favorite Is Back Too
In addition to the two new desserts, Disney is also highlighting the return of the Caramel-Banana Cupcake, which features vanilla cake, caramel-banana filling, banana buttercream, and caramel-chocolate Mickey ears.
The returning favorite rounds out a trio of savanna-inspired sweets currently available at The Mara.

Located inside Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge, The Mara has become a favorite stop for Disney food fans looking to find snacks and meals outside the theme parks. The quick-service restaurant regularly offers dishes inspired by African flavors while also serving traditional Disney favorites.
