D’oh! One of television’s most iconic families is heading to one of the world’s biggest mobile games.

The Simpsons are officially taking over Monopoly GO! in a brand-new limited-time collaboration that will bring Springfield, its residents, and plenty of animated chaos to the hit mobile game beginning this week.
Scopely announced that players will soon be able to explore iconic locations from The Simpsons, collect themed rewards, participate in new mini-games, and experience original storylines created in partnership with the creative team behind the long-running animated series. The collaboration marks The Simpsons’ first return to a dedicated mobile gaming experience in more than 13 years.
Springfield Arrives June 3
The crossover event begins on June 3 and runs through July 29, 2026.

During the event, players will be able to build, explore, and progress through some of Springfield’s most recognizable locations, including landmarks such as the Nuclear Power Plant and Krustyland, all recreated in Monopoly GO!’s signature art style. Familiar characters including Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa, and Mr. Burns will appear throughout the experience alongside Mr. Monopoly and other Monopoly GO! characters.
New Episodes Every Two Weeks
At the center of the collaboration are narrative-driven “Episodes” that will introduce original Simpsons-inspired storylines every two weeks.
These stories will unfold through seasonal boards, collectible sticker sets, themed mini-games, and animated sequences. Storylines include everything from Homer-triggered nuclear meltdowns to Bart and Lisa disappearing inside Krustyland.

Each Episode will include a limited-time sticker set featuring nine stickers. Players can only earn those stickers while that specific Episode is active. Completing a set unlocks exclusive Simpsons-themed cosmetics and collectibles, and sets can be completed a second time for additional rewards. These Episode Sets will not impact progression in the game’s main sticker album.
Introducing The Simpsons Run
One of the biggest additions is a brand-new mini-game called The Simpsons Run.

Every two weeks, a different Springfield resident will take over the Free Parking tile. Landing on the space transforms the board into a character-driven challenge where players roll themed dice, avoid hazards, collect points, and attempt to reach a finish line. Once the run ends, players return to their normal Monopoly GO! board.
New Gameplay Features Inspired by Springfield
The collaboration also introduces several Simpsons-themed twists on existing Monopoly GO! gameplay.
New features include:
- Simpsons-themed Shutdowns and Heists
- Runaway monorails and over-the-top Springfield destruction animations
- More than 50 Simpsons-themed Chance Cards
- A new “Bribe Wiggum” mechanic that puts a Springfield spin on going to jail
- Additional mini-games, collectibles, tokens, and surprises throughout the event.
Original Animated Short Debuts
To kick off the collaboration, Scopely and The Simpsons creative team have also released a brand-new animated short.

The short, titled “Mr. Burns and Mr. Monopoly’s Excellent Rivalry,” follows a decades-old feud between Springfield’s Mr. Burns and Mr. Monopoly. Harry Shearer reprises his role as Mr. Burns, while Will Ferrell voices Mr. Monopoly. The story begins with a chance encounter in Springfield that reignites an old rivalry dating back to their college days at Yale over a stolen top hat.
A Historic Mobile Gaming Return
According to Scopely, the collaboration represents The Simpsons’ first dedicated mobile gaming experience in 13 years.
The development team worked closely with The Simpsons creative staff to create an entirely new shared universe that blends Springfield’s humor and characters with Monopoly GO!’s gameplay systems. The experience is packed with references, Easter eggs, jokes, and callbacks designed for longtime fans of the series.

With new stories, mini-games, collectibles, and iconic Springfield locations arriving beginning June 3, this is shaping up to be one of Monopoly GO!’s biggest crossover events yet.
