We have our first look at the Salvaged Protocol Droid Popcorn Bucket as it debuts at Disney’s Hollywood Studios for May the 4th!

Star Wars Day has officially arrived at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and one of the most talked-about souvenirs of the day is already turning heads in person.
We’re getting our first in-person look at the Salvaged Protocol Droid Popcorn Bucket, and it’s easily one of the more unique Star Wars Day collectibles Disney has released.

Designed to resemble a worn, salvaged protocol droid head, the bucket features a distressed metallic finish that gives it that “pulled straight from Batuu” look. The detailing leans heavily into the lived-in aesthetic fans love from Galaxy’s Edge, making it feel more like a prop than a standard popcorn bucket.
One of the standout features is the droid’s eyes, which light up, adding an extra interactive element that makes this piece feel even more collectible — especially at night.
The Salvaged Protocol Droid Popcorn Bucket is priced at $29.00, and it includes popcorn at the time of purchase. There is currently a limit of two per person, per transaction, and like most May the 4th items, it’s available while supplies last.
Guests can find it at select locations around Hollywood Studios, with demand already proving to be high early in the day.

Seeing this one up close, the size and detailing really stand out. It’s slightly more understated than some of Disney’s recent popcorn buckets, but that’s part of the appeal — it feels more authentic to the Star Wars universe rather than overly stylized.
The added strap also makes it easy to carry around the park, which is always a win for functionality during a busy event day.

If you’re heading to Hollywood Studios for May the 4th, this is definitely one of the standout novelty items to keep on your radar. Between the light-up feature, the weathered design, and the limited availability, it’s shaping up to be one of the most sought-after collectibles of the day.
Is this a must-have…or a pass for you? Let me know if you’d pick up the Salvaged Droid Popcorn Bucket, and save this post in case you’re heading to Hollywood Studios today.
