Cinderella Castle is ALMOST done, and the transformation is stunning! If you’ve walked down Main Street, U.S.A. lately and thought something looked…different — you’re not imagining things!

The massive repainting project on Cinderella Castle is now entering its final stages, and based on the latest photos, we’re very close to the finished look!
Disney kicked off this repaint earlier in 2026, aiming to move away from the 50th anniversary pink tones and bring the castle back to a more classic, storybook-inspired palette — featuring soft grays, creams, blues, and gold accents.

And now? That vision is basically here.
Recent updates show the pink color is almost completely gone, with only tiny remnants left in hard-to-reach areas. The main body of the castle is fully repainted in its new gray and cream tones, and work has shifted to detail elements like the blue rooftops and spires.

In fact, some reports say the transformation is so far along that it can look finished at a glance, even though crews are still refining those final details.
From Backstage Work to Center Stage
This project moved fast — but in phases. Earlier in the process, painting started on the back of the castle, then wrapped around the sides. The front-facing “photo side” was left for later, likely to minimize guest disruption, and now that the front-facing section has caught up, the castle is looking more complete from nearly every angle in the park.
The Final Touches Are the Most Noticeable
At this stage, it’s all about the details, and they’re making a big impact!
Crews are currently brightening the blue roofs to a lighter, more vibrant tone, refining gold accents and trim, and touching up spires and turrets, which now contrast beautifully with the lighter castle base.

These finishing touches are what really bring the castle back to that iconic, fairytale look — and it’s giving major pre-50th anniversary nostalgia!
So…When Will It Be Done?
Here’s the one thing Disney hasn’t confirmed yet: an official completion date.

But based on the current pace and visual progress, everything points to the repaint being nearing completion within weeks, not months. And in some views? It already looks finished.
Why This Update Feels So Big
Cinderella Castle is the symbol of Walt Disney World. And this update marks a shift away from the anniversary-era pink and back toward a timeless, classic Disney aesthetic.

It’s subtle, but it completely changes the feel of the park’s centerpiece. At the end of the day, we’re watching the final moments of a transformation that’s going to define Magic Kingdom’s look for years to come.

And if you’re visiting soon? You might just catch the castle in that rare “almost finished” phase—where old and new magic briefly overlap.
