Universal is continuing to reveal new details about its upcoming kid-focused theme park in Texas, and one of the most exciting lands announced so far brings dinosaurs to life in a whole new way.
Universal Destinations & Experiences has shared a first look at Jurassic World Adventure Camp, one of the themed lands coming to Universal Kids Resort, the new family-focused theme park currently under construction in Frisco, Texas. Designed specifically for younger guests and their families, the resort will feature immersive lands inspired by popular franchises like Jurassic World, SpongeBob SquarePants, Shrek, Trolls, and more when it opens in 2026.
Universal recently unveiled new details about Jurassic World Adventure Camp, a dinosaur-themed area that will invite families to step into a prehistoric world inspired by the Jurassic World franchise.
The land will be part of the upcoming Universal Kids Resort, a brand-new theme park concept built specifically with younger visitors in mind.
A Kid-Friendly Jurassic World Experience
Jurassic World Adventure Camp is designed to introduce young explorers to the world of dinosaurs through interactive play areas, attractions, and themed environments.
Guests visiting the land will be able to explore dinosaur paddocks, climb Jurassic World Lookout Towers for a bird’s-eye view of the camp, and encounter baby dinosaurs up close as part of the immersive storytelling experience.
The area will combine adventure-style play spaces with family-friendly attractions that bring the prehistoric setting to life in a way tailored specifically for kids.
Jurassic World Attractions Planned for the Land
Several attractions and experiences have already been revealed for the Jurassic World area.
One of the main rides will be Jurassic World: Cretaceous Coaster, a family-friendly roller coaster that will send guests racing through the jungle as part of a dinosaur adventure.
Other attractions expected in the land include Pteranodrop, a kid-sized drop tower ride, Mr. DNA’s Double Helix Spin, a spinning ride themed to the iconic Jurassic Park character, and Dinosaur-themed play areas and interactive exploration zones
The land’s story will also involve a mission to help find a missing Ankylosaurus named Bumpy, inspired by the Jurassic World Camp Cretaceous animated series.
Part of a New Kind of Universal Theme Park
Universal Kids Resort represents a new direction for Universal Destinations & Experiences. Instead of focusing on thrill rides, the park is being designed primarily for families with younger children, featuring interactive attractions, character encounters, and playful environments.
In addition to Jurassic World Adventure Camp, the park will feature lands inspired by:
- Shrek
- SpongeBob SquarePants
- Trolls
- Puss in Boots
- Minions
- Gabby’s Dollhouse
