Universal’s highly anticipated theme park project in the United Kingdom has officially taken another major step forward.
Universal has confirmed that the official name of its upcoming UK destination will be Universal United Kingdom Resort, giving fans their first look at the branding that will represent the company’s first-ever theme park resort in the United Kingdom. The announcement was accompanied by the release of a new official logo for the project.
While fans have speculated for months about what the resort would ultimately be called, Universal has now officially adopted the name Universal United Kingdom Resort for the massive entertainment destination currently under development in Bedford, England.
The resort is planned to become Universal Destinations & Experiences’ first theme park resort in the United Kingdom and one of the company’s most ambitious international projects to date.
What We Know About the Resort
The planned resort will feature a world-class Universal theme park, multiple themed lands, a 500-room hotel, retail, dining, and entertainment offerings, and room for future expansion.
The project is being built in Bedford, located north of London, and is currently targeting a 2031 opening. Universal has previously stated that the resort is expected to become one of the largest visitor attractions in Europe.
New Logo Released
Alongside the official name announcement, Universal shared a new logo for Universal United Kingdom Resort.
The branding follows the style used by Universal’s other global destinations while incorporating the full United Kingdom Resort name, further signaling that the project is moving from concept to reality as development continues.
A Major Expansion for Universal
Universal currently operates theme park resorts in Orlando, Hollywood, Japan, Singapore, and Beijing, with additional projects in development around the world. The addition of Universal United Kingdom Resort will give the company a major presence in Europe and introduce a new generation of guests to the Universal theme park experience.
While Universal has not yet announced the themed lands or attractions that will be included in the park, excitement continues to build as construction and planning move forward.
