If you’ve been treating Universal Orlando’s CityWalk as just a pass-through to the parks… that might be about to change in a major way.

Universal just confirmed a wave of new additions (some returning fan favorites, some brand-new experiences) that are about to completely reshape the energy of CityWalk over the next year.
Let’s start with the headline moment: the Universal Legacy Store is officially returning — and soon!

After closing in early 2024 to make way for the Epic Universe Preview Center, the Legacy Store is set to reopen in late April 2026, taking over that same space once again after the preview center closes on April 13.

If you never experienced it before, this isn’t just another gift shop — it’s a nostalgia-driven retail experience packed with retro merchandise and themed photo ops inspired by classic Universal properties like E.T., Jaws, Back to the Future, and Universal Monsters.
A Major Dining Shake-Up Is Also Happening
CityWalk’s food lineup is getting a noticeable upgrade too—and it starts with a familiar name.
A brand-new Five Guys location is set to open later this summer, replacing the current Burger King Whopper Bar, which will close on April 21.
This is a pretty big shift for CityWalk’s quick-service options. Five Guys brings a more premium fast-casual experience with made-to-order burgers and fries—something that’s been noticeably missing from the district.
A HUGE Entertainment Venue Is Coming Next
And then there’s the long-term play…and it’s a big one.
Country music superstar Luke Combs is bringing his Category 10 entertainment venue to CityWalk, and it’s not just a bar.

Planned to open in 2027, this waterfront experience will feature:
- Live music performances
- Food and drinks
- A large, multi-level entertainment space
This project is being developed with Opry Entertainment Group and is expected to become a major nightlife anchor for CityWalk moving forward.
Why This Matters for Universal Orlando
Here’s the bigger picture: CityWalk isn’t just being updated — it’s being repositioned.

With Epic Universe now part of the Universal Orlando Resort lineup, there’s a clear push to make CityWalk more than just an entryway. These updates signal a shift toward making it a destination in its own right, with a stronger retail identity, upgraded quick-service dining, and major entertainment anchors.
And the best part? You don’t even need a park ticket to experience any of it.
So whether you’re planning a full Universal vacation or just looking for something to do in Orlando, CityWalk is quickly becoming a place you’ll actually want to spend time in, not just walk through.
