Getting to Disneyland is about to look a little different.

A long-running transportation option used by millions of visitors each year is officially shutting down, marking a major shift in how guests navigate the Anaheim Resort area. Here’s what’s changing—and how it could impact your next visit.
A significant transportation change is now in effect for visitors traveling to the Disneyland Resort, as the Anaheim Resort Transportation (ART) bus system has officially ceased operations.

The service, operated by the Anaheim Transportation Network (ATN), ended on March 31, 2026, following a planned wind-down due to ongoing financial challenges.
ART buses had served the Anaheim Resort area for decades, providing transportation between Disneyland, nearby hotels, the Anaheim Convention Center, and other local destinations.
The system was widely used by both tourists and local employees, with millions of riders relying on it annually as a cost-effective way to get around the resort area.

The closure comes after years of financial strain, with officials citing rising operational costs and stagnant revenue as key factors behind the decision to shut down the service.
For Disneyland visitors, the biggest impact will be felt by those staying at off-property hotels.
ART previously connected more than 80 nearby hotels and popular tourist locations directly to the resort, offering a convenient alternative to driving or rideshare services. With the system now discontinued, guests will need to rely on other transportation options such as walking, hotel-operated shuttles, rideshare services, or public transit.
There is some continuity, however.

Disneyland has confirmed that shuttle service from the Toy Story parking lot will continue, though specific details about how that service will operate moving forward have not been fully outlined.
At the same time, local officials and surrounding cities are already working on replacement solutions. Early efforts include new or expanded shuttle services from nearby areas, though a full-scale replacement for ART has not yet been implemented.
While this change won’t impact every guest equally—especially those staying within walking distance—it does mark the end of a long-standing system that helped simplify travel around the resort.
As new options continue to develop, visitors are encouraged to plan ahead and explore alternative transportation methods before arriving.
