Disney World just revealed a brand-new entrance sign for Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin—and while it might seem like a small update at first glance, this feels like way more than just a simple refresh.

Over in Magic Kingdom, you can now spot the newly installed marquee at the attraction’s entrance—and it’s giving a noticeably more modern, polished, and futuristic look compared to before.

Disney World just unveiled the new updated entrance sign to its popular attraction, Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin. The ride has been under refurbishment for several months, undergoing much needed updates to the rides passenger vehicles, targers, blasters connected to your vehicle as you ride, and even adding new scenes and characters along the way!

Now that the construction walls have been removed from the ride’s entrance, we can get a much clearer look at the new sign as well as the updated exterior to the ride as you walk up to it.

The updated sign still keeps that classic Buzz Lightyear energy we all know—but everything feels sharper, brighter, and way more intentional. The colors pop more, the design feels cleaner, and overall, it fits much better with the upgraded, more futuristic Tomorrowland Disney’s been slowly leaning into.

It’s not a total redesign, but it’s definitely a glow-up. Here’s a look at what the former sign looked like when the ride closed initially.

And honestly? It’s the kind of update that makes you stop mid-walk like, “wait…that looks different.”

Here’s the thing—Disney doesn’t usually touch entrance signage unless there’s a bigger story being told. With the ride already confirmed to be getting enhanced gameplay, upgraded blasters, and new interactive features, this refreshed sign feels like the first official signal that this is a full experience upgrade—not just a quick refurbishment.

And if this is the level of detail they’re putting into the entrance, expectations for what’s inside as Magic Kingdom will open the ride up soon to its first public riders just went way up.

Let’s ride

This might be a small update, but the hype is sure building leading up to the ride’s official debut again on April 8th, 2026.

I’ll be out on opening day to take a spin, but for now, enjoy this sneak peek of my preview ride through…
