There’s a brand-new reason to look out over the savanna.

Walt Disney World has welcomed some adorable new arrivals, adding even more life to one of its most unique resort experiences. Here’s what we know.
Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge has welcomed three red river hog piglets, marking the latest addition to the resort’s animal family.

The piglets were recently born backstage and are currently being cared for by Disney’s animal care team while they bond with their mother.
At this time, the newborns are not yet visible to guests, as they remain in a backstage habitat during their early development. Disney has indicated that the piglets are expected to make their debut on the savanna in the near future.

Red river hogs are native to Central and West Africa and are known for their distinctive reddish-brown coats, white facial markings, and expressive features.
The species is part of the diverse animal population at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge, where guests can view wildlife roaming across expansive savannas directly from resort overlooks and select guest rooms.
The birth of these piglets is part of Disney’s ongoing commitment to animal care, conservation, and education, with animal care teams closely monitoring the newborns during their early stages of development.
While guests will need to wait a bit longer to see the piglets in person, their eventual debut will add to the already unique experience of staying at—or visiting—Animal Kingdom Lodge.
For now, the newest additions are spending their time doing exactly what you’d expect—staying close to mom and growing behind the scenes before stepping out onto the savanna.
