Just hours after Disney showed off the new marquee and teased updates, Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin quietly soft opened to guests this morning at Magic Kingdom—and yes, it happened fast.

After weeks behind construction walls, guests arriving in Tomorrowland were met with a surprise: the walls were gone, Cast Members were testing operations, and before long, riders were being let in!
This all comes right on the heels of the Disney Parks Blog revealing the attraction’s updated entrance sign and new ride details—so the timing? Not a coincidence.

We were already watching closely after those first images dropped… but seeing the construction walls come down this morning had us thinking: okay, wait, something’s happening. And sure enough—it did.

Guests were able to step inside for a first look at the refreshed experience ahead of the official reopening, giving us an early glimpse at the updated gameplay, upgraded blasters, and enhanced interactive elements.

Soft openings like this are classic Disney—testing operations, fine-tuning the experience, and rewarding guests who happen to be in the right place at the right time.
But let’s be real, this also signals that everything is ready.

There’s also a new PhotoPass Wall where you’ll be able to see your ride photos previewed and scan to add them to your PhotoPass downloads.

Even the store has changed its look around a bit, so you’ll still want to step inside to poke your head around and see what all has changed.
Between the new marquee, refreshed exterior, and now live guest testing, Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin is clearly gearing up for its full relaunch—and it’s happening sooner than expected.
If you’re in Magic Kingdom today or over the next few days, keep an eye on Tomorrowland.
Because if this morning proved anything, it’s this: you never know when Disney is about to drop a surprise. And this one? Totally worth sticking around for. 🚀
